I was going to just post this as a placeholder, the way I always do when I have no recs. But we have entered what is just the beginning of a fanfic wasteland. This ep isn't very good but it does have one of my favorite exchanges between Scully and Mulder: "Mulder, toads fell from the sky!" "Maybe their little parachutes didn't open." :-)

Yes, the toad scene is funny. But there is so much--awfulness, before and after.

Go check Gossamer. Please, tell me I missed something wonderful. All I can say is that these bad standalones must be tough to write fic for, but I believe you're up to the challenge.
